UK CRACOSPECIALS

Krakow, the long hidden jewel of Central Europe, has now been discovered. Only a few years ago, costly flights, or long train rides deterred all but the most adventurous travellers. What did those early visitors discover - that Cracow was the most beautiful city they visited and the allotted 3 days was not enough. Many have returned again and again to truly discover its delights. But even the best secrets don't remain hidden for long.

The word is out that Krakow is now THE place to visit.Getting to Cracow has never been easier or cheaper than now. EasyJet, Ryanair, and a host of other airlines operate daily direct flights from numerous European cities. If you search carefully, and book well in advance, you'll find outstanding deals. A lot of activity for a relatively unknown place, don’t you think? So what makes Krakow so special?

Glance at the pictures below and you'll start to get a glimmer of what captivated earlier visitors. One of the few remaining original Medieval cities in Europe, Cracow has a unique history and a vibrant atmosphere. Add to this hundreds of great restaurants, bars and clubs in its winding cobbled streets, and countless museums, galleries and concert venues in the Cultural Capital of Poland, and you'll begin to see why people keep returning. But there's still lots more...

Preserved high on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites, Krakow shares this honour with two neighbouring Sites. Infamous Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest WWII Nazi extermination centre 40 miles west of Krakow, and the 13th century Wieliczka Salt Mines 7 miles east of Cracow. Then 40 miles south of the city the panoramic Tatra Mountains start to rise, with Zakopane as the tourist centre in all four seasons. Less known, but well worth day trips, are the Jurassic Ojcow Park,

and rafting in the Dunajec Gorge, or the Black Madonna shrine at Jasna Gora. Whilst back in Krakow, famous Kazimierz, the oldest Jewish Quarter in Poland, and centre for the filming of 'Schindler's List', is rapidly overtaking the Old Town as an alternative centre for culture and entertainment. Museums, galleries, unique pubs and restaurants, all blend together to make this district Cracow's 'Left Bank'. We can provide you with tickets for all these and many more tours.
