Marisha - checking out a new café in Kazimierz |
|
Marisha set up Affinity Flats several years after moving to Poland from the UK. Though Polish born, she had spent the greater part of her life in London.
In 1992 she won Family Circle's 'Homemaker of the Year' award and used the prize money to achieve a long-cherished dream. She packed up the contents of her London flat and, together with her small daughter, Sasha, set off in a furniture van to start a new life in Poland, choosing the stunningly beautiful city of Krakow as their new home. |
After trying a number of different ideas, she found the best way to combine both her talents and interests and earn a reasonable living. Through those lean early years, she studied her new hometown of Cracow with a passion: its history and post-Communist development; its nooks and crannies; its hidden gems. She's still finding them, as you can see above.
Affinity Flats is the result, and the means by which she brings together her designing, decorating and homemaking skills, her love and knowledge of Krakow, and her commercial and organizational training, and uses these to do what she and Sasha love most - share the joys of this magical city with their guests.
